Big news for local sports fans! The anticipation is building for the 2026 San Antonio Sports All-Star Football Game, set to kick off on January 10, 2026, at the historic Alamodome. This annual event has been a cornerstone of high school football in San Antonio since 1978, showcasing the best talent from the area’s high schools and offering an invaluable platform for athletes seeking college scholarships.

The Importance of the All-Star Game

Originally organized by the Kiwanis Club, this event has evolved into a prime opportunity for young athletes to display their skills. Entering its 48th year, the all-star game aims to shine a spotlight on local talent, with players nominated by their high school coaches and selected by a committee of sports professionals. Last year, for instance, 118 seniors from 68 local high schools participated, with many going on to play at collegiate level.

Meet the Coaches Leading the Teams

This year, Team White will be coached by Alex Franco of Southwest High School, known for his 25 years of coaching experience and a commendable record guiding his team to numerous playoff appearances. Meanwhile, Team Blue will be under the leadership of TP Miller from Claudia Taylor Johnson High School, who has quickly made his mark since taking over as head coach and has led Johnson to a district championship.

A Closer Look at the 2026 Roster

This year's game features an exciting mix of rising stars, such as Damond Garza from Alamo Heights and Kade Pape from Marion, showcasing talent across a range of positions. Players like Jeffry Thomas of Bandera and Luke Pruske from Churchill are ready to make their mark on the field, hoping to catch the eyes of college scouts and coaches.

It will be broadcast live on CW35 and available on San Antonio Sports Star 94.1 FM/1250 AM, ensuring fans can cheer on their favorites from anywhere.
