Discover a New Culinary Gem at San Antonio's Pearl

Later this month, a new culinary destination, (a)mar, will open its doors at the Pearl, enriching San Antonio's vibrant dining scene. This coastal Mexican restaurant is designed to transport diners to the warm beaches of Latin America, promising an exciting mix of flavors and a memorable dining experience.

Savor Seafood and Seasonal Delights

(a)mar, deriving its name from the Spanish words for "to love" and "the sea," will offer a menu focused on seasonal and seafood-rich dishes. Owners Carlos and Clarece Clavijo are drawing inspiration from their travels through Tulum and Oaxaca, which will incorporate diverse culinary influences from coastal Latin American regions. This ensures that every bite reflects authenticity and passion, creating a dining experience that feels both special and rooted in community.

Creativity with a Culinary Twist

What sets (a)mar apart is its innovative chef-in-residence program, highlighting rotating guest chefs from various coastal regions worldwide, including Japan. This unique approach allows the restaurant to continually evolve its offerings, introducing new flavors and techniques that showcase the best of global coastal cuisine. Diners can expect a series of exciting dining events to unveil these creative culinary visions.

A Warm Welcome Awaits

Located in the Credit Human building on Broadway, (a)mar will be stepping into the space previously occupied by the Italian restaurant Allora. The Clavijos aim to infuse the local culinary culture with their venture, sharing traditional flavors while inviting guests to experience the artistic journey of coastal cuisines. According to Michael Joergensen from Silver Ventures, the Pearl is bursting with culinary creativity, and (a)mar is set to make a significant impact in this community.
