The United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County has made tremendous strides in 2025, bringing meaningful change to our community. From empowering families to funding education initiatives, the organization has once again proven how collaboration can lead to a better quality of life for everyone.
Building Lasting Partnerships
In 2025, United Way successfully embarked on a new five-year funding cycle, engaging with 71 nonprofit organizations to create a stronger support network. This included 21 first-time partnerships that broaden the collaborative impact on San Antonio's children and families. Such robust alliances are essential for nurturing community development, particularly in education workshops and local schools events in San Antonio.
Innovative Initiatives for Military Families
Understanding the specific needs of military families, United Way initiated the Military Dual Generation program with $1.8 million in funding. This groundbreaking project aims to reduce barriers faced by military households, ensuring access to quality childcare and employment resources. Monthly food distributions and a dedicated Family Resource Center showcase how United Way connects local efforts with significant civic engagement.
Rallying Community Support
The incredible generosity of San Antonio residents was highlighted by a record-breaking fundraising at various charity events, including the Women United’s Power of the Purse auction, which raised $322,000 to support childcare scholarships for families in need. Furthermore, United Way's traditional Community Campaign saw a remarkable $46.8 million raised, reflecting our community's dedication to uplifting those around us.
