Lovers Pizzeria Embraces Change: New Online Reservations Starting Soon

San Antonio restaurant with people waiting outside on a sunny day

Online Reservations at Lovers Pizzeria: The Future of Dining

San Antonio's beloved Lovers Pizzeria will make dining more convenient for its enthusiastic customers starting May 14, 2026. The much-loved pizza spot, located in the Monte Vista neighborhood, is trading its old first-come, first-served counter service for a modern online reservation and takeaway system. This shift is a response to the overwhelming demand that has led to lines stretching out the door and around the block.

The Reasons Behind the Change

Owners Dusty Dworak and Victoria Moreno have expressed their gratitude for the support they have received since relocating to Monte Vista in early 2025. They initially started the pizzeria with a small counter service model on the South Side, but as word spread about their scrumptious coal-oven style pizzas, especially the renowned poblano and pepperoni pie, the restaurant quickly gained a cult following.

Recognized as one of the best new restaurants in San Antonio, the popularity of Lovers Pizzeria prompted the owners to reconsider their service model: “We never expected to have a line like we do, and while it’s been amazing, it’s time for something new,” they stated in an Instagram announcement. This evolution is aptly dubbed “Lovers 3.0.”

Enhancing the Customer Experience

The new system is designed to alleviate wait times and improve customer experiences, allowing foodies, dining couples, and families to savor their meals without the frustration of long lines. Online ordering for takeout will also be available, which means you can enjoy your favorite pies right from home. With the updated service style, Lovers Pizzeria will offer limited walk-ins alongside reservations, ensuring that all guests will have a chance to enjoy their much-loved dishes.

What's Next for Lovers Pizzeria?

As the culinary scene in San Antonio continues to flourish, Lovers Pizzeria is embracing this change to cater to its bustling customer base better. This decision reflects a broader trend in dining where convenience and customer-focused services are becoming more essential. Local foodie events and festivals, alongside craft beer and culinary experiences, are enhancing the dining culture in the area. By prioritizing reservations, restaurants like Lovers Pizzeria are setting the stage for incredible growth in San Antonio's diverse food landscape.
