Calling all aspiring playwrights! The Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center in San Antonio is excited to announce submissions for its Teatro Salón Table Reading Series. This program offers a unique opportunity for writers, both established and emerging, to showcase their unproduced scripts and receive valuable feedback from a live audience. If you've ever dreamed of seeing your work come alive on stage, this could be your moment!
What You Need to Know
The deadline for submissions is 4 p.m. on March 31, 2026. Writers from across Texas are invited to submit their scripts, but they must reflect the Latinx, Chicanx, or Tejano experiences. Whether your script is a drama, comedy, or a children’s play, if it embodies these themes, it might just be selected for a reading in August or September!
Why This Invitation Matters
For many playwrights, the stage can be intimidating. The Teatro Salón Table Reading Series removes some of that pressure. You'll have the chance to perform with a director and actors before getting feedback that can improve your script. Previous productions include La Niña Girasol and Las Comadres de Morales Street, which proves this initiative can lead to full productions!
How to Submit Your Script
To submit, include a cover letter detailing your contact information, a brief synopsis of your play, character descriptions, and your bio.
